Clare and Anthony had visited my studio to discuss timings for the day in particular since I was playing during the arrival of guests, the actual ceremony and then the drinks reception. They had clear ideas on how they wanted the day to run and had decided on the Coldplay instrumental “Postcards From Far Away” for Clare to walk in to. I was happy to learn this piece for them particulalry as Clare went to the trouble of sending me the sheet music.
The venue itself was quite high up in the hills with fantastic views all around and the weather was on our side. It was a great day for a lovely couple who clearly complement each other perfectly.

Pianist at Christabel & Vic’s Wedding at Thornton Hall Hotel, Wirral (Pulford Suite)
Returned to Thornton Hall on Thursday – one of my favourite venues – to perform at Christabel and Vic’s wedding. I set the white baby grand up at the far end of the Pulford Suite and once everybody was singing with the first Rat Pack song “That’s Amore” I knew we were in for a great afternoon. I had previously met Vic and Christabel at Thornton Hall wedding fayre where we were able to have a chat about options for the day and the type of songs they would like me to play. Now that they’ve tied the knot, they do make a lovely couple. I wish them all the best for the future!
